Things are heating up in Las Vegas right now as the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) is holding its annual expo and convention, RetailNOW 2012, in the famous desert oasis. From July 29 through August 1, retail industry experts from all over the globe will gather to experience the latest developments and trends in retail technology. Over 150 exhibitors will gather in RetailNOW’s Exhibit Hall to demonstrate their brands’ particular contributions to the industry.
This year’s exhibitors include a number of interesting entries to the market from diverse brands like FuturePOS, HarbortouchAmerica, Star Micronics, and Panasonic. One exhibitor, Merchant Warehouse, will introduce its Genius customer engagement platform, a new POS system that will allow merchants and payment providers to collaborate with POS developers to accept all current and future types of payment. An added benefit to this versatile virtual payment technology is its ability to adapt to diverse loyalty and reward systems offered by individual retailers.
Harbortouch will introduce its newest POS offering, the Reservations module, which allows restaurants to accept appointments or reservations online through their current websites. This system will make it much more financially feasible for small- to medium-sized businesses to stay on the cutting technological edge. The Harbortouch Reservations system is actually included with its POS system so that businesses will not require an additional online reservation system or the added expense it requires.
Technology giant Panasonic will also be exhibiting at RetailNOW 2012, introducing several new and redesigned solutions for the retail and food service industries. Panasonic will demonstrate not only its POS system but also a number of other products for the food service industry such as its drive-through communication system and digital signage for both interior and exterior display.
Representatives from Scala and HP will present “Demystifying Digital Signage” on Wednesday, August 1. This offering is designed to introduce conference attendees to the ways that incorporating digital signage can increase customer engagement while increasing profit and expanding business.
It is clear that the offerings at RetailNOW 2012 are both abundant and diverse. Exploring the latest in retail industry technology will be easy with the over 150 exhibitors on hand along with representatives from various other firms all in one place to share their expertise. Along with the exhibitions, the RetailNOW 2012 conference will also offer educational opportunities with expert speakers and lecturers, industry-specific networking opportunities, and cocktail receptions to allow attendees to enjoy the more relaxing side of Las Vegas. With a cheeky tag line like “What happens in Vegas…will better your business,” RetailNOW is destined to be a great business, networking, and social opportunity for the retail industry. It is exciting to imagine the possibilities for next year’s conference that will be sparked from this year’s meeting of the retail technology minds.
