Bluestar’s VARTECH Shows A Thriving POS Channel
Bluestar held its annual VARTECH event two weeks ago in Orlando Florida. The exciting event featured over 125 exhibitors and sponsors – and hundreds of attendees. It was well planned and executed.
Educational seminars on diverse topics such as:
IoT Security, Future Trends of POS/mPOS, Retail – Robots, Big Data, The Modern Warehouse, Healthcare, Government Opportunities, Omni-channel, RFID (sensors and beacons), and many others were offered.
The keynote speech was given by former NASA flight directory Gene Kranz, best known for guiding Apollo 11 in the first moon landing, and his part in bringing Apollo 13 safely back to Earth. VARTECH also included a private evening trip for attendees to the Kennedy Space Center.)
A panel discussion by the executive leadership at Bluestar shared impressive data about the company, the industry and its VAR base. Panel members included: CEO Steve Cuntz, COO Doug Bivins, VP of Operations Mike Frederick, VP of US Sales Rob Dorsey, CFO Ryan Garvin, VP of Purchasing Jim Walsh, VP of Business Development Mike Byington and VP of Marketing Mark Fraker.
Bluestar has grown consistently at a double digit annual rate for the last decade. Some top areas of growth include mobile printing, receipt printing, digital signage and kiosks. Apparently, the VAR channel is doing very well!!
VARTECH Sponsors and Exhibitors included:
Honeywell, Elo, Zebra, Epson, Star, HP, Citizen, Datalogic, Janam, Panasonic, SATO, Bixolon, TSC – Printronix, Extreme Networks, Planar, Vantiv and over 70 other companies.
The after hours events included a dinner by an impressive food truck retinue and numerous games like the massive multi player Foosball table on the lower right.
It was a terrific convention and I’d encourage all VARs to check out Bluestar and see if you can get to one of their events.
