Future POS/Fidelis Payments leaders hone skills at sales ‘bootcamp’
May 2nd 2017 BUTLER, Pa. – Training workshops and seminars help professionals achieve greater success. A case in point played out recently in Deland, Florida, when point-of-sale software dealer representatives, including Future POS Vice President of Sales Steve Pritchard, Jovino Velazquez, President of Fidelis Payments, and his Channel Manager Chloe Howard led the first Future POS Sales Training Bootcamp.
Future POS designs point-of-sale software for the hospitality industry, including more than 18,000 restaurants worldwide.
Future POS and Fidelis Payments co-sponsored the bootcamp, bringing nine resellers from across the country with 15 trainees in attendance. Participants logged two days of fast-paced learning with interactive training on both Future POS Version 6 and the Fidelis Payments FPOS Secure Gateway.
Pritchard, Howard and Velazquez designed the camp. The companies will offer more camps later this spring and summer.
“Simply sitting down with other dealers and talking with them was a key to helping them improve their businesses,” Pritchard said. “We did a team building event on Saturday, took a pontoon boat out in Daytona Beach for some fun and sun…it was awesome.”
“Both rookies and veterans alike came together to learn new technology and new ways to add revenue to their businesses,” Howard said. “In the past, there was a nonchalant approach to implementing EMV and selling the security it provides to our customers. It was very important to me, going into this class, that by the end, our dealers would feel compelled to go back home and get their customers protected and secured.
“Bootcamp was a great place to make sure everyone was on the same page with our approach to our customers as we are facing multiple issues today… everything from data breaches to ‘friendly fraud’ EMV chargebacks,” Howard said. “Bootcamp enabled us to arm our resellers with knowledge and tools to educate their customers and have confidence when it comes to explaining secure payments and taking the payment “PCI Out of Scope.”
The participating resellers were:
- POS SOS
- POS Solutions New Jersey
- DBS
- Trigger Technology Systems
- Diamond Data
- Everest POS
- Bella POS
- Abacco
- North Country Business Products
Future POS and Fidelis Payments are planning bootcamps, at dates to be determined, in the following locations:
- Indianapolis
- Deland, Florida
- Butler, Pennsylvania
- Arizona
Future POS, founded in 1998 by Butler resident John Giles, has grown from a handful of employees to more than 60 in the corporate office on Route 8. Giles’ wife Kelly joined him in 2003 as company Vice President.
