Mobile POS for Miami Bus Company

ILoveVelvet has been making headlines for a few months now. Through hardware and software offerings, the company’s technology enables retailers to execute mobile point-of-sale payments, create customized in-store experiences. The company has clients like Gucci, Nespresso, Bvlgari and Rolex and is currently a finalist for Best Mobile Innovator in the 2010 Mobile Excellence Awards to take place December 6th at Paramount Studios.

Just today IloveVelvet announced that Gray Line Miami, a local bus and sightseeing tour operator, will arm its sales force with its Velvet Suite software and D-Holster hardware to allow for faster payment processing and unique, personalized service.

Gray Line is a leading operator of excursions and sightseeing tours in more than 150 destinations on six continents. The Miami division of the global sightseeing company will utilize the D-Holster iPod cradle for its mobile point of sale capabilities, which includes credit card, contactless RFID and loyalty card readers. Along with the ability to process payments, the Velvet Suite software will track Gray Line Miami’s sales, host training programs and adapt to last minute event opportunities. ILoveVelvet’s solutions will be primarily used by Gray Line Miami’s on-board agents at its street level kiosks and “Hop On Hop Off” bus tours.

“With the implementation of ILoveVelvet’s technology, we are striving to become more than just a bus company,” said Julia Conway, operations manager of Gray Line Miami. “We are looking to become a one-stop tourism shop, better able to quickly meet the changing needs of local visitors. ILoveVelvet was the perfect fit for our company, especially considering the high-level customization the technology provides. Our agents will be able to offer Miami visitors a memorable experience that begins with the first interaction and continues well beyond each tour or excursion.”

Gray Line Miami serves a broad audience of visitors that are constantly bombarded with a host of entertainment options. By implementing ILoveVelvet’s technology, Gray Line can now provide increased mobility through quick and secure payment processing while reducing the need for physical collateral and ensuring a customized experience from any location. The features and functionality provided through ILoveVelvet’s product suite will position Gray Line Miami to break through the noise in a crowded hospitality and tourism market, and create a base of lifelong brand evangelists.

“Mobility and adaptability are essential when resonating with customers and creating lasting experiences, especially within the travel industry,” said Patrick Bouaziz, chief visionary officer of ILoveVelvet. “For a company whose business depends on movement, ILoveVelvet’s mobile functionality provides Gray Line Miami with the tools to create a sale and process a transaction at any time or location. Gray Line Miami is at the forefront of understanding consumer needs and developing a more loyal base of customers, pushing it far ahead of the competition.”

Considering recent seismic shifts in mobile technology and adoption, it is only logical that changes in point of sale and customer service are necessary to stay relevant to consumers. IloveVelvet seems to lead the pack in consistently providing retailers with the ways and means of accomplishing this feat.
