Ingenico Named One of the Most Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – Feb 23, 2016) – Ingenico Group (Euronext: FR0000125346 – ING), the global leader in seamless payment, announced today that the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) has named it one of the Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG, the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, will recognize the prestigious Top 40 group at the 2016 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 17, 2016, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

TAG’S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact, and efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia’s technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and globally.

“We’re very excited to have been named by TAG as one of the most innovative technology companies in Georgia,” said Oscar Bello, President, North America, for Ingenico Group. “Ingenico Group works tirelessly to push the innovation envelope, and we’re well established as a global leader in payment acceptance technology. Because TAG is in our backyard, its recognition means a lot to us and to our US employees, customers and partners.”

Ingenico Group provides multi-channel payment solutions, spanning in-store, online, mobile and unattended, to deliver a seamless experience for merchants and consumers. Over the past few years, the company has played an integral role in driving the EMV (chip card) migration in the US, just as it previously led EMV migrations in dozens of other countries. As a leader in payment security, Ingenico Group helps merchants combat data breaches by implementing advanced security solutions, such as its point-to-point-encryption (P2PE) solution, On-Guard. Its new Ingenico Labs division, dedicated to payment technology innovation, is working toward commercializing several important payment advances, such as the integration of secure payment acceptance capabilities into a wide array of connected devices for the Internet of Things (IoT) — including intelligent vending machines, kiosks and digital signage.

Ingenico Group’s North American headquarters are located in Alpharetta, Ga. Since its entry into the US market, Ingenico Group has swiftly grown its market share to more than 27 percent. The US is now the company’s biggest market. Ingenico Group employs more than 250 people in North America, including 150+ in Atlanta. Ingenico Group’s mobile payment acceptance R&D is largely conducted in the U.S.

“The 2016 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia’s Technology community,” said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. “The 2016 Top 40 finalists are shining examples of what makes our State such a hotbed for technology and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community.”

“An extraordinary number of truly innovative technology companies participated in this year’s Top 40 competition, demonstrating the depth and breadth of Georgia’s technology community,” said Dennis Zakas, managing partner of Zakas & Leonard, LLP, CEO of Zinc., and chairperson of the Top 40 Selection Committee. “In fact, based on the quality of the contestants, we could have had a ‘Top 60’ without losing a beat.”

This year’s Top 40 Companies were selected from among more than 100 applications submitted by companies from across Georgia. Companies selected for the “Top 40” will be showcased in an exhibition at The 2016 Georgia Technology Summit. Read more
