LevelUp and Orderscape Partner to Power Voice Ordering for Restaurants Globally
BOSTON, Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Today, LevelUp and Orderscape, two leading restaurant technology firms, announced their partnership to bring voice activated chatbots to restaurants across the U.S. The integration will give tens of thousands of restaurants within the LevelUp network access to voice skills and chatbots to streamline mobile orders.
Orderscape’s expertise with voice and natural language processing coupled with LevelUp’s expertise with digital ordering platforms, make this integration a game changer for the restaurant industry. Customers will be able to access Orderscape’s voice activated chatbots on all Amazon Alexa devices and other voice services and devices in the future. Orderscape plans to increase customer reach by supporting additional conversational channels such as Messenger and Slack after its Alexa debut.
“As consumers become more tech-savvy, they become more sophisticated in how they wish to interact with their favorite restaurants,” said Evan Korzon, vice president of strategic partnerships at LevelUp. “Integrating voice activated chatbots into the online ordering process is a natural next-step because of the billions of dollars being invested in developing digital assistants from Amazon, Google and Apple. Orderscape has unique expertise in the industry, and the technology, and have been great partners to work with.”
Orderscape’s technology is geared towards seamlessly pushing voice and chat orders to restaurant clients for processing. With LevelUp’s involvement, restaurants who may not have had the budget or expertise to build voice ordering into their own website, or app, will be able to utilize the option through Orderscape and LevelUp. Orderscape can also supercharge transaction volume for restaurant brands by leveraging an influx of orders from LevelUp’s network.
“Voice ordering delivers an exciting, new, frictionless experience for consumers and a new revenue opportunity for restaurants,” said Michael L. Atkinson, CEO at Orderscape. “To interact with a voice commerce system, people speak naturally with the device. No apps need be downloaded or installed—people just find and enable our skills, talk and order.”
Orderscape’s platform is designed to plug and play with existing online order systems and gateways so restaurants can simply switch on service to receive voice and chat orders without additional integration work on their part. “Our patent pending, menu agnostic conversational experience gives consumers a consistent ordering experience across brands and menus, and helps us scale rapidly,” said Ted Cohn, CTO at Orderscape.
LevelUp aims to build the next-generation mobile payment network, connecting consumers and merchants with a seamless payments experience that blends payments, analytics and rewards. LevelUp is bringing this technology to market in three distinct ways; via the LevelUp app which lets consumers order ahead and skip the line at their favorite lunch spots, embedded into partner restaurant apps to provide a full-stack customer engagement solution, and via an open developer platform that powers over 200 mobile apps. LevelUp is based in Boston, MA and backed by leading investors such as Google Ventures, Highland Capital and JPMorgan Chase.
Orderscape is building the world’s premier, scalable, full menu conversational food ordering platform for customers and a new sales channel for restaurants. Orderscape powers customer engagement, up selling, cross selling, polls, recommendations, group ordering, AI recommendation and reorders. The Company has enabled more than 70,000 restaurants to date with multiple online ordering partners and expects to reach 100,000 by EOY 2017. Orderscape expects to serve tens of millions of diners, with its growing restaurant marketplace.
