NMI Launches Turnkey EMV Chip Card Solution with TSYS Certification
SwIPe Ready-to-Deploy Software and SDK Enables Simplified EMV Processing
ROSELLE, Ill. and PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Sept. 19, 2016 (Business Wire) — NMI, a payments enablement technology company, today announced that SwIPe, an EMV® chip card solution, has been certified on TSYS processing platforms. The combination of NMI’s SwIPe software and EMV software development kit (SDK), coupled with smart terminals and TSYS certification enables rapid deployment of innovative and easy-to-use chip card solutions. NMI’s Independent Sales Organization (ISO), Value-Added Reseller (VAR) and Integrated Software Vendor (ISV) customers benefit from access to industry-leading EMV chip card technologies.
“Small to medium-sized merchants can simply download the SwIPe software application and plug in a smart payment terminal via USB to immediately begin processing EMV chip card transactions,” said Nick Starai, NMI’s vice president of product development. “Not only have we created a turnkey EMV chip card solution for SMBs, we’ve launched a fully functional EMV SDK for point-of-sale (POS), mobile POS (mPOS) and software integrators,” Starai added.
“We are delighted with the EMV certification of NMI’s turnkey solution to TSYS platforms,” said John Badovinac, director of developer partnerships for TSYS’ Merchant Services segment. “This allows NMI to gain an edge on the competition by providing ISOs, VARs, ISVs and their merchant customers a robust EMV solution to help guard against card fraud.”
NMI’s ready-to-deploy solution provides a simplified approach to meet EMV requirements and transaction processing for the masses, while giving ISOs, VARs, ISVs and merchants a quick-to-market way to ease the EMV migration burden. SwIPe is designed for simple merchant operating environments not requiring complex or proprietary POS systems to run their businesses, while NMI’s semi-integrated SDK makes the transition to EMV straightforward when adding chip card acceptance to existing POS systems. Integrators are spared months or even years of effort using the EMV SDK, plus can save tens of thousands of dollars in certification fees. The SDK may also prevent merchant chargeback losses associated with the inability to process chip card transactions during what is often a long and protracted certification process.
