RSPA Announces New President/CEO – Former VP of Oracle
Association focuses on growth as it welcomes channel veteran
CHARLOTTE, NC | October 13, 2017 – The Retail Solutions Provider Association (RSPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new President and CEO, John T. Kirk.
The RSPA is a non-profit association comprised of resellers, distributors, hardware manufacturers, software developers, consultants and service providers who bring retail technology solutions to the marketplace. RSPA is the only association connecting the Point of Sale technology ecosystem, and the President and CEO of the organization will play an integral part in this.
Mr. Kirk is a channel veteran, having worked as Assistant Vice President of Hospitality Worldwide Industry Marketing for the NCR Corporation, and, most recently, as Group Vice President of North American SMB Sales and Distribution for the Oracle Corporation. His impressive background boasts a variety of leadership positions, and he has helped to establish and foster team-building programs that have aided in increased sales productivity, motivation, and leadership.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Kirk join the RSPA as President and CEO,” says Mark Fraker, Chairman of the Board of Directors for RSPA. “He possesses all the qualities we have been searching for in a new leader, coupled with many years of experience within the channel. He has successfully championed new initiatives, increased sales, and accelerated growth in many of his previous professional endeavors, and we’re looking forward to working with him to grow the RSPA the same way.”
The RSPA has been searching for a candidate to fill this role since July, after the previous President and CEO stepped down. The RSPA is governed by a 16-member board of directors to which Mr. Kirk will report. Together, the board and CEO assure RSPA’s relevance to the community, the accomplishment of RSPA’s mission and vision, and the accountability of RSPA to its diverse constituents.
“I am honored to accept the position of President and CEO with the RSPA,” says Kirk. “Serving the RSPA is a unique privilege, and we will focus on serving our RSPA team as we serve our members, together. This is an excellent opportunity, and I anticipate that we’ll be able to do great things as a community. We are stewards of a long and proud tradition. We will make it count together. The best is ahead.”
The RSPA is the only association dedicated to the point of sale and retail technology industry. The mission of the RSPA is to accelerate the success of its members in the point of sale ecosystem by providing knowledge and connections. The organization offers education, certification, a legal hotline, industry advocacy, and discounts on other services to assist members with becoming and remaining successful. RSPA is most well-known for its signature events, RetailNOW® and INSPIRE® which provide face to face learning and networking opportunities. Learn more by going to www.GoRSPA.org.
